In business since 1995, A to Z Chimney Sweep and Window Screen was started by a young college student named Aaron Zambrana. Not willing to take out student loans while earning his business degree, Aaron began a small window cleaning business to support him and his wife through college. Over time, he began fixing broken insect screens for his window cleaning clients.and eventually, the window cleaning business was sold in favor of making window screens all together. Unfortunately, what Aaron did not realize, was that when he sold his window cleaning business, he also forfeited his precious winter income. No longer having his commercial restaurant and office accounts to clean windows for during the winter, Aaron was required to find an alternative source of income.and his second passion (chimney sweeping/repairing) was discovered.

"Since that time, we have discovered that this unique combination of running two opposing seasonal businesses was the key to becoming a financially strong and stable company" says Aaron. "While most seasonal businesses are forced to hire and train a new crew each season, A to Z runs strong with the same employees year round employees who sincerely care about you and your needs because they are not just a temporary hired gun." "We are very proud of the fact that from such humble beginnings we have grown so quickly," Aaron states. Starting out in his garage while earning a business degree as a full time student, A to Z currently employs more CSIA Certified Chimney sweeps than anyone else in the Sacramento Area, and offers a full range of chimney related services and products which range from routine cleaning and inspections to major chimney repairs stove installations, and Dryer Vent Cleaning.

Aaron attributes this phenomenal growth to the awesome service and attention given to each and every job by his team of chimney professionals. "Because we concentrate on making our customer's experience a stress free, and provide the highest degree of peace of mind, our existing customers come back to use year after year.and we come highly referred! About 60% of our appointments come from repeat customers or the friends they referred to us, which says a lot," claims Aaron.

In Fall of 2000, Aaron graduated from California State University Sacramento with his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. "One unusual thing about our business is that first I learned the business of running a business.and the technical skills (Window Screening and Chimney Sweeping) after the fact. In other words, learning how to run a business was and is my primary focus, and those business skills have helped us to develop a smooth running, profitable business that will be here for years to serve our customers," says Aaron.

"But Technical Skills are also needed in running a business such as ours. We are on the forefront of Technology when it comes to our craft, and we jealously retain this competitive advantage by attending just about every educational opportunity possible. From formal training programs to studying other successful businesses (in and out of our industries) we spend thousands of dollars each year attending schools and traveling all over the United States in order to give better service than any other company in our area. Because of this, our service and quality cannot be touched by anyone else, bar none."

Earning his degree at Sacramento State was just one of the formal educational milestones for Aaron. During and after college, Aaron has also earned two Contractor's License in two different trades for each of the businesses; C-61 D-52 limited Specialty License for Window Screens and C-61 D-34 for Chimney Sweeping. Certification from the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), as well as the Hearth Foundation's prestigious NFI Wood burning program are two more industry specific certifications held by A to Z, further demonstrating a strong commitment to providing the most knowledgeable service to it's customers.

In fact, at a cost of thousands of dollars per technician, A to Z is the only business in the Sacramento area where EVERY Chimney Sweep is a CSIA Certified Sweep . Most other companies have one person (usually the owner) who may or may not be certified.and no one else in the company is. That means that the end customer is usually served by someone who is less knowledgeable than they probably should be.

"When it comes to fire safety and your home, we truly spare no expense," says Aaron. "In addition to requiring every sweep to be CSIA Certified, we are also the only company to inspect every open face fireplace with a $4,000 digital closed circuit camera system. These specialized cameras (called "Chim Scan Closed Circuit Cameras") allow the home owner to see the inside of their chimney with their own eyes. This is especially important in the event a needed repair is discovered. The homeowner becomes educated, and knows first hand the repairs are truly needed. We don't simply require them to take our word for it."

"Because I feel your time is as valuable as ours, we do our best to make sure you rarely get an answering machine when you call," says Aaron. "Because I myself hate talking to a machine, we make every effort possible to ensure you get a live person to answer your call.and not just someone who can fog a mirror, either. We make great efforts to train our office staff so they can be knowledgeable enough to answer your most common questions." says Zambrana. "If you do happen to reach our voice mail, it is most likely because our staff is on the other line or helping another customer, but you WILL get a call back promptly."
